The Planet D - Dave Bouskill & Deb Corbeil
That is the tag line on the card of Ketchikan Outdoors  in Alaska.
We were nearing the end of our Alaskan Princess Cruise sponsored by Princess Cruises.  We
had a trip of a lifetime tweeting our way through #FollowMeAtSea and one of our last
excursions was a backwater zodiac tour through the waterways of Ketchikan, Alaska.

Whale Watching In a Very Wet Juneau, Alaska
When we stepped out onto our balcony, we saw that the rain was coming down hard. The
clouds were grey and the sky was low. We had been through this before. Almost 2 weeks
earlier, we couldn’t land on the Mount McKinley glacier during our
Flight Over Mount McKinley
due to bad weather, and it looked like our flight would probably not happen today either.

Cruising Through Glacier Bay Alaska
All on board activities are put on hold for this day, as sailing here is the star attraction of the
cruise. After enjoying our champagne breakfast in our suite, we stepped out onto the balcony
just in time to view pods of humpback whales swimming by the boat as we entered Glacier Bay.
We ended up seeing 3 different pods with a front row view from our suite.

On the Riverboat with Princess Cruises
Our trip starts in Fairbanks Alaska where we will be spending 5 days on land exploring America’
s Northern most state. Guy Glaeser (pronounced Glacier) our tour guide set up a great day for
the early arrivals. Staying in the Princess Riverside Lodge offered an excellent home base for
all our excursions and today we set out to explore the Chena River. We were led on a historical
tour regarding the heritage of the Athabaskan People and the early settlers of Alaska.

The Ultimate Ships tour of the Coral Princess
We have, and we were lucky enough to take a tour of Princess Cruises Coral Princess during
our first day on board.  This is one of the most difficult tours to book yourself on, but as a part
of the #FollowMeAtSea press trip, we had our very own tour of the Coral Princess.
The Ultimate Ships Tour is a behind the scenes journey of the working parts of the Coral
Princess. We met the dancers from their nightly Vegas style shows ..... [

What to Pack for an Alaskan Cruise
As budget travelers and backpackers we are not used to packing large. Over the years we
have learned to pack lightly and to scale down our luggage to essential items only for long
term travel. When Princess Cruises invited us on the #FollowMeAtSea sponsored trip we were
obviously very excited, but also at a loss on how to pack for such an epic trip. An Alaskan
cruise is quite different from a Caribbean or Mediterranean Cruise.

Alaska, Land of the Midnight Sun: Snapshot Sunday
We have only been in Alaska for a couple of days but the scenery here is just breathtaking.

I was not sure I would get any sunset or night shots here as the sun sets around 1am and rises
at 3am. Even then, it never truly sets at all. So you have to stay up late.  [

Alaska’s Denali National Park, Pioneer in Conservation
Taking part in the Follow Me At Sea Press Trip presented by Princess Cruises, we had access
to every tour and excursion that anyone could imagine taking part in.  We are extremely
grateful for the opportunity to take part in dream adventures such as flights over Mount
McKinley, helicopter rides over the Juneau Ice Field and racing through the inside passage of
the Tongass National Forest.  [
