WELCOME TO BEAUTIFUL FAIRBANKS & INTERIOR
|

Fairbanks & Interior Alaska
Packs of wolves, herds of caribou, moose, and brown bear all call Interior Alaska
home. It’s almost as if everything within this region is big: largest mountain, biggest
wildlife, and grandest views. At the heart of the interior, in Denali National Park, rests
Mt. McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America.
During the summer months visitors world-wide flock by the thousands to witness the
magnificence and wonder of the Alaska Mountain Range and the distant peak of Mt.
McKinley. In the winter, ice-climbers compete to tame the mountain’s intense
environment in hopes of naming themselves one of the few people to have claimed
the pinnacle.
From Denali head north along the Parks Highway and you’ll eventually arrive in
Fairbanks, Alaska’s second largest city and what many agree is the heartbeat of the
Interior. Here, you’ll find dog sledding and ice sculpting in the winter months with the
summer months offering outdoor festivals that draw thousands of visitors.
There are museums to peruse and an internationally accredited collage to attend, all steeped within a rich history brought on by Alaska’s Gold Rush. From
big to biggest, the Interior of Alaska is nothing but a grand adventure for all that desire to journey into the heart of Alaska.
